Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Jonathan K — 11 Jul 2012
A bit of a bore, and I've never been a fan of Keira Knightley. Fassbender is great as always -- man, is this guy prolific lately, or what? -- but with all the hyper-activity and scene-guzzling by Knightley it's nearly impossible to notice the solid performances in her vicinity.
It's no surprise this is an adaptation of a play of an adaptation of a non-fiction novel because it is told that way. There are countless narrations of letter correspondence that attempt to provide much-needed momentum to this fictionally provocative story of the relationships of some rather unimpressive characters, according to this particular version of history.
