Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Patryk C — 25 Jul 2012
A quite, passionate picture which uses three seperate, yet intertwined character studies to examine sexuality and companionship, therein. A more subdued picture from one of the greatest filmmakers still working today, Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method" is a wonderful examination about sex and love, exploring aspects of human nature and presumption, all while offering a unique and intelligent historical drama.
With standout performances by Fassbender and Knightley, to say nothing of a brilliant and dynamic method-piece by Viggo Mortensen, all along side their director's professionalism and style, "Method" may go into territory that touches some uncomfortable places in American audiences, but it is still a sensational, and restrained picture.
Highly recommended.
