Review of A Cure for Wellness (2017) by Greg B — 17 Mar 2017
"A Cure for Wellness" is a science fiction / psychological thriller about a man conscripted by his company's board of directors to go to a remote sanitarium in the Swiss Alps and get his boss back.
When he gets there, he mysteriously discovers that no one wants to leave and is left to uncover its dark secrets. This film is well- intentioned and has an interesting premise; however, it fails to execute that premise.
Gore Verbinski is a visionary director, but unfortunately, his visions are clouded here. This film is overlong and confusing and by the time the twist comes I am left perplexed by what happened. This film tries to be too much and ultimately fails at being much of anything ---------------------------------------------------- C.
