Review of A Cure for Wellness (2017) by Emma M — 06 Jun 2017
It starts out promisingly and some of the visual imagery in this film are striking and creepy as hell, but its ambition is ruined by its derivative and disappointing finale. When it's a mystery film, it works very effectively and Verbinski seems to be trying hard to make something original.
I was really into it until the last 15 minutes and I just wish it had better execution. "A Cure for Wellness" is overly long and ends on a disappointing and silly note, but up until then it is a solid psychological thriller with some striking visual imagery.
