Review of A Cure for Wellness (2017) by Gabriel G — 21 Apr 2017
Draws homage to the old greek treatment centers (asclepeias) where individuals would undergo a period of purification, drank the waters of a sacred fountain, and spent one or more nights sleeping in special clothing in an underground chamber.
There the greek mythological character Asclepius would reveal the cure of the illness, provide an oracular dream, or at times the dream itself would bring healing. A horrific and perverse twist to such a premise, but nonetheless an intriguing take on such artifacts/methodology and an exceptional intention, at least, to utilize actual historical (and not commonly known) instances/notions found and practiced in civilization.
