I really want to like this film. I want to disregard the fact that it's 2 and a half bum-numbing hours long. I want to applaud the visuals, the sweeping cinematography, the lovely colouration, the photographic composition.

But I can't. Because this film is so far up its own backside, it's got poo on its nose. It's the kind of half-baked plot writers sketch out on the back of napkin in the pub, but then tweak over months of tightening and tweaking.

There has been no tweaking. A Cure for Wellness needs a face-lift and 50 minutes of flab liposuctioned out.
