Review of A Cry in the Night (1956) by Maria V — 17 Jun 2010
Uneven, but still interesting noir crime thriller. It's very much a product of its time, with Edmond O'Brien coming on way too strong as the lead and a script that could use some tighter pacing - especially during some awkward attempts at humor.
But the stronger story elements - particularly Raymond Burr's timid, momma's boy psychopath - keep it compelling despite its flaws.
