Review of A Clockwork Orange (1971) by Eytan D — 10 Feb 2013
A film that demands to be seen! "A Clockwork Orange" is one of Kubrick's most taboo, bizarre, and satirical films of all time, touching on the harsh subject of reasonless violence and society's attempts to cure those who are said to be sick.
Kubrick is a star here, but the movie belongs to Malcolm McDowell, whose legendary psychopath Alex De Large is funny, disturbing, wild, and we can oddly relate to him. It's definitely not for the kids, but as dark and strange as it is, it's a classic.
To this day, it's nearly impossible to sit through the "Singin' in the Rain" scene.
