Watched this film again and really a lot of what it predicted for the UK has not come true. It predicted that there would be more violence for the sake of violence, more young people running amok amongst us and that we would not be safe in our own homes. This is a well made film though and Kubrick's command of the language of film is exquisite here. A group of young men commit violence, rape and robbery in future UK. Alex is caught after a violent attack on a woman in her own home resulting in her death. He is then put in prison and subjected to a new sensitizing drug which makes him feel like dying when he observes violence or sex of any kind. However there is a twist ending.

Beautifully filmed and scored as always with Kubrick this has some extreme violence even by today's standards. Refreshing to see that the predictions have not come to fruition but a brilliant reminder of what could happen given current infrastructure cutbacks in the UK.
