Review of A Clockwork Orange (1971) by Sandro A — 18 Oct 2014
Watching A Clockwork Orange is not necessarily the most enjoyable experience due of its several disturbing moments (one towards the beginning particularly comes to mind), but like most Stanley Kubrick films, its social message is vibrant and thought-provoking.
The excellent cinematography and perfection of mood also make you fully aware that it's a Kubrick picture. Unlike other highly regarded films that are notorious for being very violent and/or disturbing (i.
E. Taxi Driver, Silence of the Lambs), A Clockwork Orange is less about the individual mind behind the mayhem and more about the general question of whether or not a madman is willing or able to change his ways.
