Review of A Christmas Story (1983) by Jordan K — 07 Aug 2011
Although some parts aren't very family-approved, this is a Christmas classic. Christmas is coming up, and the Parker family is getting ready in strange ways. The Old Man, the bad-mouthed father, sets up a lamp shaped like a woman's leg, a kid gets his tongue frozen on a pole, and Ralphie? Ralphie, our main character, wants a Red Ryder bebe gun the most of all, although everyone he knows tells him "he'll shoot his eye out".
Ralphie is clearly unlucky, as shown in this movie, but it's a sure classic. Like I said before, there are some bad moments for a PG movie (like Ralphie nearly saying the F word), but this is a movie to see.
Sure, it has some silly moments, but a lot of movies do, and, like I have said on other movies, I'm the user who likes those silly movies. A great movie.
