Review of A Christmas Story (1983) by Lee D — 21 Dec 2014
While there's no movie I would say I would watch for 24 hours straight, I can understand why a Christmas story was chosen for that distinction over the past several years. This in my opinion is one of the best, most timeless and honest Christmas films of all time, especially in regards to the perspective it shows of how a child views Christmas.
The story and the way the story is presented is ultimately the shining point of the film for me and the reason I feel that it has become such a classic. The acting and characters are also perfectly placed and well played, adding to the story itself.
and while the story is definitely a period piece it feels completely timeless and relatable. All in all I feel that this is one of the top 5 commercial Christmas movies of all time. I watch it at least once a year and probably will for many years to come.
