It's a given that adaptations of A Christmas Carol take liberties with the story but this one takes more than the Muppet Christmas Carol. I believe that those who argue this is the best movie version are blinded by nostalgia as i've read that it was a staple on American tv for years.
I will admit Gene Lockhart made a damn good Bob Cratchit.
