Review of A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) by Jacob M — 03 Dec 2013
Not only is this the best Peanuts special, but it's also the best Christmas show ever to be released on television. Like what Hollywood perfected in Miracle on 34th Street, Charles Schultz manages to tell the perfect message about the Christmas season by going against commercialism and promoting peace and good will.
Plus being the first Peanuts special, the Peanuts characters are at their all-time best and Vince Guralidi's score is catchy, memorable, and occasionally heartfelt (especially "Linus and Lucy" on catchy and "Christmas Time is Here" for heartfelt).
This is a true Christmas special, not Hoops and Yoyo Ruin Christmas or the Christmas kid garbage made nowadays.
