Review of A Cat in Paris (2010) by Jakki J — 16 Jul 2013
Though short, this animated feature is beautifully animated and enjoyable from start to finish. It's basically about a cat who is living a double life as a pet to a mute girl and an accomplice to a petty thief with a big heart.
There is also a sub-plot about a detective who is trying to bust a gangster responsible for killing her husband and a string of crimes. I admit, I tend to rate movies like this a little higher because they take a chance artistically and don't fit the mold of most modern animated films.
It's certainly entertaining enough for children, but appeals to adults as well. The story is amusing and touching, not to mention hysterical at times. While I love the Disney standard, it's nice to take a break from it and just watch something truly unique.
I highly recommend giving it a chance!
