I was at the age where I grew up with the first Pixar films, and along the way, "A Bug's Life" edged out "Toy Story" and "Finding Nemo" to be my favourite of the Pixar films. It still ranks right up there (I find it hard to split a lot of them). The film manages to show a lot of heart in a story about an ant who wants to improve life. As an adult, I can now see connections to the way the world operates now in this story, with the older ants opposing every one of Flik's attempts to improve the colony's life.

Full of sight gags, and a typical Pixar blend of heart and humour, this is the sort of film that needs to be made more often.
