Review of A Bronx Tale (1993) by Shaun B — 30 May 2008
Robert De Niro's directorial debut bears an unmistakable influence from Scorsese (dark humour, assured camerawork and especially an abundance of classic rock and pop on the soundtrack). Unlike many mob classics, this story allows for more perspective from the law-abiding, working class members of the Italian neighbourhood.
Based on Palminteri's one-man play (now that I would love to see).
