Review of A Bronx Tale (1993) by Aslyn E — 25 Jan 2011
One to add to the second tier of great crime films. This isn't as much about the gangsters as it is about a young boy form between his father and his idol, local kingpin Sonny. It also looks at racism between Italians and blacks in New York.
It goes along at a nice cheery tone until a killing forces our kid to grow up. fast. A few great scenes are mixed in but it mostly just keeps it solid which is fine, makes for a great watch. Shame it can't find that something special to sit at the table with the classics.
