Review of A Bronx Tale (1993) by Steven C — 21 Apr 2010
A way over ratted film. It was like Scorsese meets Spike Lee. Two different and non overlapping stories that did not mesh. The only highlight was DeNiro's acting. Chaz is an overrated monkey/greaseball who will milk this tale ad nauseum.
Also, despite his acting acting ability DeNiro like 99.9% of actors is NOT a good director or a good writer. Their rise to the top of the film dunghill is based upon their face recognition and NOT talent.
The film maker as deep reader and writer has been eclipsed by the actor. Dittos for C. Eastwood who is woefully unfit to write for film. He is morally weak and lacks the moral appreciation of great art.
