Review of A Brief History of Time (1991) by Kristina D — 26 Aug 2009
Mildly entertaining ... but I expected it to be much better and much more controversial. the documentary was more about hawking's life than the metaphysical aspect of time. it should have been called a not-so-brief history of stephen hawking .
.. because that's exactly what it was. it went in order of date, and interviewed hawking's friends and family, regarding his life. the fact that the film focused so heavily on hawking's life was somewhat off-putting, and made hawking seem self-important.
the film was also very uninteresting, aesthetically. for most of it, I felt as though I was watching a powerpoint presentation with a voice-over. however, as the film was made in 1991 and is a documentary, such low qualities of cinematography are to be expected.
