Review of A Bridge Too Far (1977) by Mike M — 02 Oct 2012
This 70s war epic stars just about EVERYONE -- seriously, look at the credits -- and, while not without its tension and high points, overall, is lengthy to the point of tedium. Nothing you haven't seen before in far superior war efforts, with this one focusing on WWII and an ill-fated mission.
Curious to see Gene Hackman playing a Polish war officer (although, not surprisingly, it was the POLISH guy who was smart enough to know things would bad right from the start). Good film, not great. Worthwhile, at the very least, to see all these tremendous actors in one flick.
Could have called it A MOVIE TOO LONG.
