Review of A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969) by Shane D — 01 Feb 2010
Watching any Peanuts feature is always a nostalgic affair. Most of the time, they are a lot less entertaining than you remember, and other times you find they are insanely inventive and insightful, especially for their time.
I used to love watching these mini-movies as a kid, and managed to come across this feature revolving around Charlie Brown and a spelling bee. It was quietly enjoyable, featuring a few moments that I really felt were genuine marvels of 1960s animation.
If you have that nostalgic love for the Peanuts gang this is a joy, if you are an animation buff you will meet this with interest, but if you are a newcomer you might leave scratching your head or falling asleep.
Still, I enjoyed.
