Review of A Birder's Guide to Everything (2013) by Amilcar A — 27 Mar 2014
It's so amazing when you go to a movie made with $3 and it turns out to be a little gem. I find it so refreshing when I watch a great movie that clearly was made with nothing, where the actors are pretty much unknowns except for the cameo from a major star.
A Birders guide is simply a fabulous movie. It's smart, funny and sweet. Not to mention it can make anyone interested in birdwatching.
The movie is a combination of teen sadness, love and redemption. The star of the story is a kid that's lost a lot but has a solid bright future ahead of him.
He's troubled and confused but at the same time very well grounded, intelligent and loyal. His friends are about the same with their own quirks and eccentricities.
I can imagine almost no one will watch this movie and that's a pity.
