Review of A Bill of Divorcement (1932) by Private U — 19 Aug 2007
John Barrymore chews the scenery as he always does, while Billie Burke chews on her lip and is otherwise concerned that her ex-husband has escaped from a mental institution. It doesn't quite work--it never rises above its theatricality and its conclusions might make you scratch your head--but it's a great showcase for Katharine Hepburn as Burke and Barrymore's daughter.
