Review of A Bigger Splash (2015) by Sarah F — 14 May 2016

The acting and cinematography were superb, and the story and characters well crafted, but this is as far away as you can get from a "feel good" movie. Tense and uncomfortable might be a better description, and that is clearly what the movie is after.

I liked the way the history of the characters and their relationships were revealed little by little through flashbacks. Some over-the-top behavior made me think "Is this realistic?" But probably in the entertainment world (where the characters are from) you see a regular lack of boundaries and narcissistic personalities - so maybe it is a plausible story after all.
