Not exactly John Woo's best, but it's still generally better than most of his Hollywood pictures. Woo's certainly at the top of his game in his Hong Kong pictures, like THE KILLER and HARD BOILED, which are genre classics.
A BETTER TOMORROW is stylish and gritty, but it's story is a bit generic and the soundtrack is lackluster. I'd only recommend this one to the hardcore Woo fans out there, if you're not one of them, then you should check out THE KILLER and HARD BOILED instead.
