There was a time where John Woo's style was somewhat original. However, he milked that udder until bone marrow came out. This film came out before all that and is a pretty good guilty pleasure film. Of course it has the guns with endless ammo, the cornball emotional scenes and the overkill.
One thing I respect about this series of films is the lack of doves and broken glass everywhere. Great early gun-fu flick.
