Review of A (1998) by Aroon K — 07 Nov 2007
A fascinating glimpse into the bizarre world of the Aum Shinrikyo cult, infamous for the deadly sarin attack on the Tokyo subway. As much as your first instinct is to revile the people you see in this film, you just can't - they seem more like sweetly dorky, lonely, misguided souls than a vicious killer cult.
In the end the sheer ambiguity of the situation leaves you disoriented with a strange mix of emotions. A flat-out brilliant, criminally unknown movie.
