Review of 99 Homes (2015) by Jaime L — 07 Dec 2015
The Wall Street of the housing market collapse of 2008, 99 Homes is a riveting drama focusing on Andrew Garfields down on his luck contractor who is just foreclosed on his home and put out on the street by the eventual real estate shark played by Michael Shannon is a superb performance who takes him reluctantly at first to take advantage of the situation to get himself back on track by any means necessarily by flipping properties in precarious positions.
Heart breaking, intelligent and also infuriating, 99 Homes is a look into an aspect of the most recent recession that has rarely been touched in most mainstream fiction fare that is a much watch. Really engaging and well produced.
