I'm confused by the reaction to the performances in this film. People have been pinpointing Michael Shannon as the standout, but I feel wholeheartedly that Andrew Garfield is unquestionably brilliant in this film.
He's one of the most subtly brilliant actors I've seen, and he's out in full force here.
