This film delivers great performances by Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon in a very heartbreaking, morally gray story, There are times where emapthy is felt for Garfield's role as the main protagonist and even moments of empathy to be felt for Shannon's role of the antagonist.
Overall, this is a truly Oscar-worthy film about what desperation and greed can drive good people to do.
