Review of 99 Homes (2015) by Juan V — 10 Oct 2015
Ramin Bahrani tells an impressive story constructed over the narrative of the economic housing crisis. A Realtor (Shannon) and the morally conflicted understudy (Garfield) driven-in to a situation he just can't get himself out out of.
The script was sharp some of the most real conversations and dialog I've seen this year.
Ultimately the film suffers during the final act where it slips into an easy yet somewhat safe kind of groove like ending.
But overall the movie is still a tension driven film well worth the price of admission.
