Review of 88 Minutes (2007) by Antony G — 16 Feb 2011
Al Pacino stars in this rather poor Thriller where it seems the actors know they're in a poor movie with a confusing, muddled plot & can't really be bothered but with a pay cheque at the end of it they push through.
I would had given this one star but thankfully Pacino just keeps you going. Some poor acting from the supporting act doesn't help especially from Alicia Witt. Pacino plays a Psychiatric Professor who receives a call his life will end in 88 minutes.
The calls keep coming reminding him how much longer (shorter!) he has left. Pacino soon suspects everyone around him & it's soon clear a Serial Killer, called The Seattle Slayer, he helped put away nine years earlier has a perp on the outside helping him to kill Pacino.
Pacino has 88 minutes not only to save his own life but find out who the person is trying to kill him & has also been copying the Seattle Slayers murders to make out the real killer is innocent.
