Review of 8 Women (2002) by Arch A — 07 Oct 2007
This movie is handled like a theater play. Everything happens almost in one room where all the characters come in and go out as the plot evolves. to separate a scene from another, the director decided to have each of the actresses do a musical number that has nothing to do with the plot of the movie but perhaps constitutes a salute to the great musicals of yesteryear.
And this is precisely what I didnâ??t like about the movie. I feared the moment when Danielle Darrieuxâ?? turn to sing will come, but to my great relief, she sang better than all of the others! The performance of Isabelle Huppert deserves acknowledgment.
