Review of 8 Women (2002) by Matty S — 27 Dec 2013
Even if this French musical were not so enjoyable -- and it is. The gathering of this legendary cast of actors makes for an event. François Ozon is having fun, but he never lets the art and style of the film to lapse.
I highly disagree with RT's comment that this is inspired by Cukor. This is most certainly a cinematic satire of Douglas Sirk. Impossibly French and fun. It is particularly fun to watch Deneuve, Huppert and Ardant spare.
