Review of '71 (2014) by Graham B — 22 Dec 2014
After being separated from his squadron following a riot on the streets of Belfast, a young British soldier against all odds, must find his way back to the safety of his barracks.
This is a really tense cat and mouse thriller that never lets its foot off the pedal. Jack O'Connell continues to shine this year, here as the novice soldier, depicting the genuine peril and terror flawlessly. The supporting ensemble also pack a punch as the untrustworthy and confusing varying factions.
Gripping beyond belief. The odd unnecessary postscript lets it down a touch, but this film is very worthy of your time.
