Review of '71 (2014) by Kim M — 12 Dec 2017
'Posh cunts telling thick cunts to kill poor cunts. That's the army for you. It's all a lie.' There's much to admire in this debut effort from Demange, not least the fact it sides with absolutely noone in this Belfast set drama during 'The Troubles'.
You have to take a leap of faith with the plot because of the single day storyline but it means that the story moves along swiftly and is at times really enthralling. I enjoyed this a lot, it's no classic but Demange certainly seems a Director for the future.
