Review of 7 Prisoners (2021) by Jluis_001 — 20 Nov 2021
7 Prisoners isn't a film that offers enough variation to be perceived as a more proactive film, but its story of modern slavery is a stark account and reminder of a gruelling and painful reality that millions of people face with the promise of a better life.
The fragility of the soul and your will are among the main themes of this film, and how it ends up affecting one of its main characters, in a passage that shows the rottenness of his captors and the corruption that allows this situation to thrive so openly until it closes with the inevitable blow of countless lives ruined.
This is not a subtle film, nor does it need to be, and even with its drawbacks and flaws, it's considerably tragic and pertinent.
