Review of 7 Men from Now (1956) by Mikey M — 05 Oct 2011
Really enjoyed this smart and concise western from the writing and directing talents of Burt Kennedy and Budd Boetticher. It threatens to be a typical 'B' feature with the regular cheesy opening theme song and colour saturated visuals, but quickly settles down into a refreshingly short and cleverly characterised wild west adventure.
As with most of the great westerns from this period, Hollywood's restrictive formula for the genre has been bent slightly out of recognition, the director leaving us with a subtle but alternative personal touch.
