Review of 6ixtynin9 (1999) by Scott S — 13 Mar 2009
This is awesome. The cinematography is minimal and understated, but does absolutely everything it needs to. Lalita is captivating as the timid and disconnected Tum who can only think one step at a time in response to the chaos of the characters that surround her.
To call it a Thai "Fargo" is admittedly accurate, but does it a disservice. It's Tarantino without the inflated ego. It's a little bit dark, and sad, and hilarious, and will stay with you long after you've seen it.
I loved it. Go get it.
