Review of 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain (2017) by Roman Y — 13 Oct 2017
Can't really comment on actor's abilities - don't have any formal education in this area, but hero's team mate in that pool scene was very hard to watch. His eyes reflected no emotion during the better part of the conversation.
Besides the seemingly mediocre acting, there were scenes that had a good suspense or action potenetial, but were either not realized, or seen a mile away: "Hmm. This looks like a frozen lake covered with snow. He will fall in 3, 2, 1, wait for it... there!". I assume the story is about someone who grew up around snow and mountains and used to play hockey. So him ending up in that lake doesn't add up. Maybe it was the drugs.
I felt the story got forced on me. Three days in and his leg starts falling off? The weather is nice, there is sun above. Why does he lie down and play dead? The filming was incoherent with the story.
I know that some degree of dramatic exhaggeration must be allowed for, but truth in the story becomes somewhat questionable considering a small portable FM radio receiver cannot send any signals anywhere. Was it the filming choice or the original story? What really happened there?
Also that waterproof phone...
