Review of 54 (1998) by David A — 06 May 2010
As a cautionary tale against excess in general, this is a fantastic film. Otherwise, not much can save it whether it be the soap-opera-derived dialogue, the predictable storyline or the sub-par acting.
I only watched it for Mike Myers and even he was underwhelming. All that said, though, he was still the best part of the film but it's mostly because he portrayed Steve Rubell, who was obviously a genius in the business and the marketing world.
