Review of (500) Days of Summer (2009) by Sumanta M — 20 Sep 2012
A solid movie with not the happiest of endings, 500 Days of Summer demonstrates a man in the midst of LA looking for the 'one.' In Summer he finds much more, and very less. We feel the pain and suffering and wonder how anyone could treat a person like him, badly, but we are juxtaposed in retrospect to the real nature of Summer Finn, 'this is not a love story.
' Somewhat offbeat and honest, Tom's charming character faces heartbreak, love, and the struggle of finding himself in this refreshing film for the adults of the world. It in itself is innovative and a film to rewatch often.
