Review of (500) Days of Summer (2009) by Anthony P — 03 Jan 2013
Charming.
This nonlinear indie film is a bittersweet romantic comedy that shows that in real life: relationships isn't always as happy and perfect as shown in the movies.
Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love; and wants to spend his life together with this girl. Girl does not share the same feelings. Girl dumps boy. Boy is left in utter shit and depression and desperately tries to win her back.
The movie's leads, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel have great chemistry together.
The protagonist, Gordon-Levitt, reflects on the happy times when he was in a relationship, which greatly contrasts the reality after the end of their love; which is depressing and bitter.
I highly recommend this movie.
