Review of (500) Days of Summer (2009) by Peter W — 05 Nov 2012
Rewatching this movie today is one of the best choices I think I've ever made. The amount of realism and honesty this movie has is absolutely incredible, and in particular the way JGL's character is written feels so authentic and human.
At points he's sort of a dumbass, at others he's absolutely heartbreaking. I adore this movie. Helmed together by two incredible performances, a terrific script and a beautiful soundtrack, (500) Days of Summer is a movie that simply understands how vulnerable we are and our need for love, and just how much these desires can outweigh the important choices we need to make as humans in order to better ourselves.
I absolutely adore this movie, it really is a magical experience.
