Review of 50/50 (2011) by Louis R — 26 Oct 2012
Joseph Gordon Levitt saves the film with his serious, fairly subtle- but ultimately functional- performance. Apart from that, it is hit and mediocre, with an emphasis on the mediocre, involving in particular a very uneven, eventually unconvincing, treatment of the subject matter, namely cancer.
But, not without humour, not without emotion and not without merit. It just could do better.
