(2011) 50/50.
DRAMA/ COMEDY.
Anybody who has any misconceptions about chemotheraphy this may be the first film that actually deals with the subject without asking for sentimentality as opposed to other films also about some cancer as "Terms Of Endearment", "Sweet November" and "A Walk To Remember" to name a few. Almost right away, Adam (Joseph Gordon Levitt) finds out he has cancer with a 50/50 chances of living hence the title. But as a result of this, he approaches his releationships in a different direction particularly his girlfriend Rachael (Bryce Dallas Howard) mother (Angelica Huston) and his best friend Kyle played by Seth Rogen. And he meets other people who have cancer as well along with a young therapist Katherine played by Anna Kendrick. Centers more on the situation at hand than on story which I thought theirs a nice balance of improvisition of comedy and drama between Levitt and Rogen.
3 out of 4.
