Review of 50/50 (2011) by Tedrico L — 03 Mar 2013
I went into this film expecting to laugh like I did in "Pineapple Express" ... chiefly because I thought it was Seth Rogan's film. Boy was I in for a surprise. The film "50/50" is beautiful, filled with despair, uplifting to the spirit, mildly comedic and overwhelmingly heartbreaking.
The last film I has seen that deal with cancer as well as did this one was "Terms of Endearment". In a nutshell this film is about Adam ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt ) and the people he loves like best friend Kyle (Seth Rogan ) and his Mother ( Angelica Houston), Father, and friends / exes, and each of them comes with their own degree of stressors and drama, quirks, tragedies, etc.
None of Adam's friends know quite what to do, because deep down inside, they know there simply isn't anything they can do but trust in GOD as He moves through the surgeon's hands. This film rates 4 out of 5 stars and I'd watch it again and suggest you watch it as well!
