Review of 50/50 (2011) by Nathan E — 29 May 2013
A extremely well acted and tonaly perfect film that only misses a higher score due to its predictable first 30 mins. There are too many moments especially at the start where you know exactly what is going to happen with Bryce Dallas Howard especially.
The earlier things lead far to obviously into the could be surprise moments. With that said Joseph Gordon-Levitt is incredibly believable and honest in his challenging role and plays it to perfection.
His chemistry with Anna Kendrick pulls the last act together extremely well. The comedy is well placed and tastefully added into the soft moments. A seriously great movie.
