Review of 50/50 (2011) by Juan L — 01 Oct 2013
Joseph Gordon-Levitt gives us an excellent portrayal of a congenial and awkward guy at odds with with his diagnosis. Seth Rogan gives us his regular comedic relief, which is duly needed through the darker aspects of the film.
It's not absolutely hilarious but I don't think that was Levine's aim for this movie. It's awkwardly funny, but also provides a unique insight into the psychology of a person going through a likely fatal condition.
